description
We are tackling the needs area of increasing and monitoring muscle strength in sarcopenic patients through exercise in order to minimize unbalanced gait. Sarcopenia is a disease that affects ~10% of those above the age of 60. It causes a higher mortality rate due to loss of stamina and unbalanced gait. Current treatments to this disease are largely lifestyle changes, so our team's goal is to create an exercise equipment to track information about physical performance and improve movements through the capture of information about physiological patterns, physical activity, and mobility.
